Characteristics of Organic Silicon Modified Polyester Resin

Introducing silicone resin with UV resistance and strong hydrophobicity into the structure of alkyd resin greatly improves the gloss retention, powdering resistance, color retention, and weather resistance of the alkyd resin coating, enhancing its outdoor value. Can be used as a durable coating for outdoor steel structural components and appliances. Self drying modified alkyd resin is commonly used as a maintenance coating, suitable for permanent buildings and equipment, such as iron towers for high-voltage transmission lines, railway bridges, freight cars, oil drilling equipment, power stations, agricultural machinery, etc. It is also suitable for harsh weather conditions and is used for coating the water parts of marine vessels.

Organosilicon modified polyester resin paint is a type of drying paint. Mainly used for decorative protection of metal sheets, pre coated metal sheets for construction, and aluminum roof panels (roll coating). It has superior weather resistance, gloss retention, color retention, non fading, powdering, tough coating, wear resistance, and excellent weather resistance. After 7 years of outdoor use, the paint film is intact and does not require repainting.

Drying type silicone modified polyester resin paint is more expensive than general unmodified alkyd resin, but much cheaper than nitrogen resin paint. Therefore, both economically and performance wise, silicone modified polyester paint is an excellent weather resistant paint.

The special structure of silicone resin determines its excellent light retention, weather resistance, stain resistance, chemical medium resistance, and flexibility. By introducing it into the main or side chains of acrylic acid, an organic silicon modified acrylic resin with both advantages can be obtained, resulting in an ideal organic silicon modified acrylic resin paint with excellent weather resistance, good light retention and color retention, low powdering, and good gloss.
Widely used for pre coating of metal sheets (coil coatings), prefabricated metal sheets for construction, and coating of machinery and equipment, with an outdoor weather resistance period of up to 15 years. Organic silicone acrylic exterior wall coating, which can cure at room temperature and dry quickly, has good gloss and is easy to apply. Organic silicon modified acrylic paint is divided into two types: room temperature drying (self drying) type and drying type. In terms of weather resistance, the drying type is superior to the self drying type. Organic silicon modified aliphatic polyurethane resin greatly improves temperature resistance and weather resistance, and is used as an aircraft skin coating.When using silicone modified resin weather resistant paint, it must be noted that excellent weather resistance can only be obtained after the coating is completely cured. If the curing degree of the coating is poor and the drying is not good, the weather resistance is also poor.

Exterior wall coatings mainly composed of pure silicone resin can effectively prevent moisture damage. They form a stable, highly durable, three-dimensional network structure on the surface of building materials, resisting the absorption of liquid water from the outside but allowing water vapor to pass freely. This means that external water can be blocked outside the wall, while moisture inside the wall can easily escape.
